Yeah, we recorded all that by the lake. And Jimmy was always the headphone guy. I’m really proud of that record!
It would be fun to do as a band. They sort of swerveddiver around when played live – the recordings can be like photographs, they’re just a record of how the band played the song that day but when played live, the songs are constantly evolving. But then I guess social media is the same in a different kind of way. Adam Franklin born 7 October is an English guitarist, singer, and songwriter who is the front-man of the alternative rock band Swervedriver —99, —present as well as the main swervedruver force behind Toshack Highway — and currently releases records under his own name with his touring band Bolts of Melody. It’s great that you have the option today rather than the “three singles and an album” business model that most labels followed when we first started.

But I guess there were just more songs on here that seemed to be crying out for a screaming guitar solo. Then swercedriver the end of the year both bands released them all as compilation albums, which is good in a way as it alleviates the pressure of having to put together a full album.

To be honest, I don’t think anyone is that hung up on commercial success anyway.
I have to get a bit weird and sycophantic on you here, so bear with me. We’re working on a new Swervedriver album. And then Ley [Taylor] from the band called me up and mentioned doing some sort of release, which ended up being the split release [Magnetic Morning], which came out on Sonic Unyon a couple years ago.
The acoustic version is… not sad, but more melancholy, and the electric version is triumphant. You can find gems online like Dirty Sidewalks and Divided for example.
That brings up something I wanted to talk about. I think that we were clearly just more of a rock band. The songs might reach points of almost white noise in some parts but it’s always layered over a strong tune.
They were having hits in England and we did a tour opening for them. And it really mellowed us out way too much. Yeah, I think there is frqnklin guitar stuff.
